Inclement Weather & Flooding Notice: May 13th-16th
Due to forecasted inclement weather from Tuesday, May 13, 2025, through Friday, May 16, 2025, the Town of Cheverly is issuing a hazardous weather warning in anticipation of heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding.
Residents are urged to use caution, stay informed, and avoid flood-prone areas during periods of heavy rain. Additional updates will be shared as conditions develop.
The following locations have been identified as areas at risk of flooding:
•Forest Road and Park Way *
•Montrose Road and Cheverly Avenue *
•Newton Street (5600 and 5700 Block)
•Valley Way
•Valley Way and Euclid Street *
•Wayne Place and Cheverly Park Drive
•Trent Street
•Cheverly Hills Court (3200 Block)
•Joslyn Place and 63rd Place
•Lake Avenue and Euclid Street *
•Carlisle Street and Crest Avenue
•Tuxedo Road (near the overpass)
•Lake Avenue, Belleview, and Valley Way (due to running water from sloped yards)
*These locations have recently undergone county storm drain improvements and are expected to experience less severe flooding than in previous years.
Protective Actions:
•Avoid driving through flooded roadways – “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
•Secure belongings and elevate valuables if you are in a flood-prone area.
•Monitor roads and weather alerts and be prepared to evacuate if advised.
•Stay indoors and off roads unless absolutely necessary.
•Relocate vehicles to elevated locations.
•Ask neighbors with access to high-elevation parking for assistance
