Community Safety Alert – SUSPICIOUS INDIVIDUAL
This individual seen in surveillance photos was spotted walking in the 1700 block of 61st Avenue, Cheverly, MD on Sunday, June 8, 2025, around 12:30 AM tampering with vehicles in the area. Multiple residents reported seeing a White male, unknown age, on several other occasions attempting to gain entry into parked vehicles by pulling on door handles. The witness confirmed it was the same individual from the images below, wearing identical clothing.

The Cheverly Police Department is helping Santa this year by
collecting letters for him and sending them to the North Pole!
Beginning December 1, 2024, you can drop off your letter at a
special mailbox outside the police department.

Washington Gas – Northern Pipeline Performing Gas Line Replacement on the 2400 Block of Park Way
Washington Gas contractor, Northern Pipeline, will be performing gas line replacement services on the 2400 block of Park Way beginning Tuesday September 29, 2025, through Friday October 10, 2025; weather permitting.
Please observe all posted signs and exercise caution in the area. Nothern Pipeline will have traffic control on-site to help guide traffic in work zones. No road closures are anticipated at this time.

A gas leak has been reported in the 6200 block of Kilmer Street.
Kilmer Street between the 3100 block of Parkway and Laurel Avenue will be closed until further notice. Please avoid the area and follow all posted detours and safety instructions.

Hillis Carnes will be conducting soil compaction test samplings at the locations indicated below. This work is planned to start on Monday, March 10th, 2025 through Friday, March 14th, 2025, weather permitting. Please observe all posted signs in the area.
